How does EliteRecruitments support BFSI hiring in Asia Pacific?

EliteRecruitments recruits actuarial, risk and compliance, analytics and AI, audit, catastrophe modelling and insurance technology specialists for financial institutions across Asia Pacific, and the leaders who run those functions. We are an empanelled recruitment partner to insurers in Cambodia and the Philippines, and we have run searches for employers in Sri Lanka. Our searches are run from India and draw on candidates from across Asia Pacific and beyond, with a 90 day replacement guarantee on retained work.

Borderless search

Why your recruiter does not need to be in your city

For many specialist BFSI roles, the right person is not in the city where the job is. The actuary who can sign off a reserving basis, the modeller who can build a capital model, the specialist who can validate or audit an AI model: in a market of any size there may be only a handful, and the strongest of them are often not looking.

Finding them depends on two things: knowing the discipline well enough to assess people properly, and knowing where they actually sit. So we treat senior search as borderless. When we search for an employer in the Philippines or Sri Lanka, we look across Asia Pacific, not one country, and we bring you the people who can do the work, wherever they are today.

Market by market

Who we recruit for, market by market

Each market in the region is at a different point, and the specialist roles employers need follow the regulation. For the wider picture on actuarial demand, read why actuaries are in high demand across Asia Pacific. Sources for the dates below are listed at the end of this page.

01

Singapore

For banks, insurers and fintechs in Singapore we recruit model risk and validation specialists, AI governance leads, technology risk professionals, auditors who can audit AI, and actuarial, capital and product talent for the regional teams many international insurers run there. The driver now is the Monetary Authority of Singapore’s Guidelines on AI Risk Management, issued in October 2026, which take effect in two stages from October 2027 and October 2028.

02

Hong Kong

For insurers and reinsurers in Hong Kong we recruit valuation and capital actuaries, ALM and investment risk specialists, catastrophe modellers, and the risk reporting and data people who produce regulatory disclosures. The risk based capital regime has applied since 1 July 2024, and amendments to the capital rules take effect on 31 December 2026, including lower capital charges for natural catastrophe and reserve risk.

03

Japan

For insurers in Japan we recruit capital actuaries, ALM specialists, and data and AI leaders. Insurers moved to an economic value based solvency regime from 31 March 2026, and the Financial Services Agency published version 1.1 of its discussion paper on AI in finance in March 2026.

04

Philippines

We are an empanelled recruitment partner to an insurer in the Philippines, and our searches there draw on candidates from across Asia Pacific, not one country. We recruit IFRS 17 actuaries and accountants, model and data governance roles, and risk professionals, and we know how the large shared service and capability centres in Manila are staffed. Insurers must adopt PFRS 17 from 1 January 2027, and the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas set out governance principles for AI in financial services in June 2026.

05

Sri Lanka

We have run searches for employers in Sri Lanka, sourcing candidates from across the region. We recruit actuarial, risk modelling, analytics and finance specialists for insurers, banks and the capability and analytics centres based in Colombo. SLFRS 17 took effect for insurers from 1 January 2026, and the insurance regulator has consulted on revised risk based capital rules, including a new catastrophe risk charge.

06

South Korea

For insurers and reinsurers in South Korea we recruit capital actuaries, ALM and capital management specialists, and risk leaders. IFRS 17 and the Korean Insurance Capital Standard arrived together in January 2023, and an additional basic capital requirement for insurers starts in 2027.

07

Thailand

For insurers and banks in Thailand we recruit IFRS 17 actuaries, model risk and AI governance professionals, and catastrophe modellers for a market with real flood exposure. Insurers moved to TFRS 17 on 1 January 2025, and the Bank of Thailand issued AI risk management guidelines for financial service providers in September 2025.

08

Cambodia

We are an empanelled recruitment partner to an insurer in Cambodia. We recruit the actuarial, risk and finance specialists a growing insurer or fintech needs, usually from across the region because the local pool is still small. Insurers are due to apply IFRS 17 and IFRS 9 for periods beginning on or after 1 January 2028.

India depth behind every search

Building your Asia Pacific team from India

Some of the region’s actuarial modelling, reserving support, analytics, risk reporting and audit work is done by supporting teams in India. India is where the firm was built, so if you are setting up or growing a team there to support your Asia Pacific business, we can staff it from the first specialist hire to a full function.

Our page on building a global capability centre in India covers how these teams are put together, and our India page covers our home market.

Why institutions across the region choose us

Honest about how we work

We do not have an office in Singapore, Hong Kong or anywhere else in Asia Pacific outside India. Our offices are in Gurugram and Kolkata, with a registered presence in Kokomo, Indiana, and we run searches for employers wherever they are. What travels is the method: we assess people on real capability rather than job titles, and the numbers show it, an 80 per cent screening rate, an 85 per cent joining rate, and fewer than fifteen fees returned since 2014 because a placement left early.

We run retained search for senior and business critical roles, contingency for active hiring, and capability build when you are standing up a function.

Shagun Gupta, founder of EliteRecruitments

For an institution hiring into a market from outside it, that means the person who scopes your brief understands the technical heart of the role.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

Do you have an office in Singapore or Hong Kong?
No. Our offices are in Gurugram and Kolkata in India, with a registered presence in Kokomo, Indiana. We run Asia Pacific searches from India and work with clients across the region remotely.
Do you only put forward Indian candidates?
No. We search wherever the right people are. Our searches for employers in Sri Lanka and the Philippines have looked across Asia Pacific, and senior searches can go further when the role needs it.
Which Asia Pacific markets do you recruit for?
Employers across the region, including Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, South Korea, Thailand and Cambodia. We are an empanelled recruitment partner to insurers in Cambodia and the Philippines.
Does EliteRecruitments support recruitment across the Asia Pacific region?
Yes. We support specialist recruitment for employers across Asia Pacific, depending on the role and what the client needs. Our work covers banking and financial services, insurance and reinsurance, actuarial, risk, analytics and AI, audit and strategy consulting. We run these searches from our offices in India and source candidates from across the region, so we recruit into markets where we do not have a local office.
Which roles do Asia Pacific insurers and banks find hardest to fill?
The roles that new regulation creates faster than the profession can supply them: capital and IFRS 17 actuaries, ALM specialists, model risk and AI governance professionals, catastrophe modellers, and auditors who can audit models and AI. Leadership roles that combine these skills are harder still.
Can you help us build a team in India to support our Asia Pacific operations?
Yes. We staff India based specialist teams and capability centres that support regional and global operations, from the first hire to a full function.
What does the 90-day guarantee cover?
If a candidate leaves within 90 days, we replace them. Since 2014 we have had to return fewer than fifteen fees because a placement left early.
